Frequently asked questions

What's the best age for braces?

A first assessment at age 7 catches jaw problems early. Full treatment usually starts between 11 and 14, and there is no upper age limit for adults.

How long does treatment take?

From 6 months for simple cases to 24 months for complex ones. Clear aligners typically take 12–18 months.

Do braces hurt?

Only mild pressure for a few days after each adjustment, relieved with a simple painkiller. Aligners are more comfortable since there are no wires.

Can teeth be straightened without extractions?

In most cases yes, using expansion or light polishing between teeth. Extractions are only decided in severe crowding.

What happens after braces come off?

A clear or fixed retainer behind the teeth keeps the result — usually at night, for life.
