How we handle fear

Prevention at home
Brush from the first tooth with a soft brush and a rice-grain amount of fluoride toothpaste (under 3), then a pea-sized amount; no night-time feeding after teeth appear; fewer sweets between meals.

We use the 'show, tell, do' approach with short visits. For difficult cases we offer laughing gas or treatment under general anaesthesia in hospital.
How often does a child need fluoride?
Every 6 months in clinic, plus an age-appropriate amount of fluoride toothpaste at home.
