Pediatric Dentistry — Fear-Free Care from the First Visit
Children's dental clinic at Dr. Nour Moustafa Dental Clinic: check-ups from age one, fillings and pulp treatment for baby teeth, fluoride and sealants, early orthodontics, and drill-free laser treatment.

Our children's clinic is designed to make the first visit fun rather than frightening: pediatric specialists, small instruments, and a laser that treats shallow decay without the sound of the drill.
Our services for children
- Routine check-ups, cleaning and fluoride every 6 months.
- Fissure sealants for the permanent molars.
- Tooth-coloured fillings for baby and permanent teeth.
- Pulp treatment (pulpotomy) and ready-made crowns for baby teeth.
- Extraction of over-retained baby teeth and space maintainers.
- Early and functional orthodontics from age 7.
- Treatment of broken teeth after injuries.
- Treatment under general anaesthesia in hospital for extensive cases or children with special needs.
How we handle fear
- 01A get-to-know visit: the child sits in the chair and meets the instruments as toys.
- 02Show, tell, do: every step is explained in the child's language before it happens.
- 03Short visits and a reward at the end of each one.
- 04Flavoured numbing gel before any injection, or laser with no anaesthesia for shallow decay.
- 05Laughing gas or general anaesthesia for special cases.
Prevention at home
Brush from the first tooth with a soft brush and a rice-grain amount of fluoride toothpaste (under 3), then a pea-sized amount; no night-time feeding after teeth appear; fewer sweets between meals.

Frequently asked questions
When should a child first see the dentist?
When the first tooth appears or by age one — a short get-to-know visit to check the teeth and guide the parents.
Are baby teeth treated or extracted?
Treated. Baby teeth hold space for the permanent teeth and help with speech and chewing. Early extraction can cause crowding later.
What are sealants?
A thin coating applied to the grooves of the first permanent molars (age 6) to prevent decay — no drilling, no anaesthesia.
My child is afraid of the dentist — what can I do?
We use the 'show, tell, do' approach with short visits. For difficult cases we offer laughing gas or treatment under general anaesthesia in hospital.
How often does a child need fluoride?
Every 6 months in clinic, plus an age-appropriate amount of fluoride toothpaste at home.
