Porcelain veneers before and after

A veneer is a thin porcelain shell bonded to the front surface of a tooth to change its colour, shape and size. It is the treatment of choice when whitening isn't enough but a full crown isn't needed.

When are veneers the right choice?

  • Dark or uneven discolouration.
  • Short, pointed or mismatched teeth.
  • Small gaps between teeth.
  • Chips or worn edges on the front teeth.
  • Visible old fillings in the front teeth.

E.max veneer details

We use one material class: lithium-disilicate glass-ceramic — genuine Swiss E.max, or its German equivalent in the same class at a lower price — the global reference standard for porcelain veneers.

Veneers or a Hollywood Smile?

A Hollywood Smile is veneers on a full set of front teeth (8–20) with one unified design. Veneers may be for one or a few teeth. Same materials and steps — the difference is the number of teeth and the scope of the design.

Caring for veneers

Soft brush and daily floss, no biting hard objects, a night guard if you grind, and a check-up every 6 months. Veneers don't prevent decay on the tooth beneath, so keep the margins clean.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between E.max and Illuminate?

E.max is digitally milled with high precision and is the choice for most of our patients (9,000 EGP per tooth). Illuminate is hand-layered for shade gradients and translucency closest to natural enamel (12,000 EGP per tooth).

Do veneers damage teeth?

Not when done properly. We remove a very thin layer of enamel (or none at all) and the tooth stays protected under the veneer.

How long do veneers last?

10–15 years on average for E.max, often longer with good care.

Do veneers stain?

Porcelain doesn't stain like natural teeth, though the margins can be affected by smoking and coffee over many years.

Can I get a veneer on just one tooth?

Yes — to fix a chipped or discoloured tooth, matched precisely to the neighbouring teeth.
